West Wallsend features
West Wallsend is a great place to live if you want an active lifestyle, especially if you’re interested in a family home for less than $850k.
Mount Sugarloaf is on the fringes of the suburb. A quick drive and you’ve got loads of walking routes to pick from, each with access to incredible lookouts. The suburb itself also has plenty of green space, with parks, golf courses and ovals spread throughout.
Home to one of two indoor swim centres in the Lake Mac region (the other is in Toronto), the heated pool in West Wallsend is the perfect place to swim in the winter. In summer, when you want to be outside, it’s just a few minutes to the outdoor pool at Wallsend.
You’ll find plenty of small shops on Carrington and Withers streets – takeaways, bakeries and cafes – as well as health facilities. Bigger shopping centres can be found in Cameron Park, Wallsend and other nearby suburbs.
West Wallsend is right on the edge of the Lake Mac LGA which, although it takes you further from the beaches, makes you much closer to the Hunter Valley and the beaches of Nelson Bay.
