What's it like to live in Broadmeadow?
Broadmeadow’s a hugely popular suburb with families and sports lovers.
Its location makes it easy to get into the city and nearby beaches or to get out of Newcastle completely by train or road.
The performing arts school on Lambton Road is a favourite for many local families and attractions like the two putt-putt golf centres and the go kart track are popular year-round.
The jewel in the crown is of course the stadium, home to both the Newcastle Knights and Jets, two teams that offer hope of reliving their past glory days.

Broadmeadow features
Broadmeadow is Newcastle’s favourite suburb on game days. The McDonald Jones Stadium is home to the Knights and the Jets, so it’s in use every second weekend of the year. On top of that, it’s recently become a venue for gigs, with the likes of Elton John and Paul McCartney performing there recently. If top names aren’t playing at the stadium, they’ll be at the nearby Entertainment Centre.
The council has plans to turn this into a sporting precinct to rival Melbourne’s. Beside the footy stadium are the international hockey and basketball stadiums, with the basketball stadium slated for a major upgrade in the near future.
Broadmeadow’s Nineways is home to a wide and varied collection of businesses, from pubs, cafes and takeaways to car dealers, tattoo parlours and discount goods stores. You’ll find a host of other stores along Lambton Road, including numerous fast food places, craft breweries, local icon Frontline Hobbies and the city’s biggest Lifeblood donation centre.
Broadmeadow is close to the CBD (whether driving or taking the bus) and with its own train station it’s easy to take a trip out of the city at the drop of a hat.
