Elermore Vale features
Sandwiched between Rankin Park and Wallsend, Elermore Vale has a lot going for it, and plenty more within easy driving distance.
The busy Croudace Road goes through the suburb, but the back streets are very client. With ongoing development of a bypass from Lookout Road to the old Jesmond roundabout, the traffic situation should improve very soon.
The Elermore Vale Shopping Centre has many of your everyday needs, including an IGA, bakery, pharmacy, hairdresser and cafe. There’s also a few independent takeaways, but bigger shops and chain brands are close by – in Jesmond, Glendale, Kotara, Wallsend and more. Elermore Vale’s location gives you a foot in many camps, whether you want to get into Newcastle itself, through to Warners Bay or out to Raymond Terrace and beyond.
Either side of the shops are two schools: Elermore Vale Public and South Wallsend Public, the latter going on to Lambton High. These schools, as well as Wallsend Public in close proximity, are a huge draw for families, as are the numerous playgrounds. Walker Fields behind the shops is a large green space with soccer fields, a cricket oval and a skate bowl.
The northern fringes of the suburb back onto bushland separating Elermore Vale from the John Hunter Hospital, with plenty of routes to help you make the most of nature.
