Hamilton South features
Hamilton South is one of Newy’s larger suburbs, spreading from Newcastle Racecourse in the west out towards The Junction in the east. Just as Newcastle has a wide mix of suburbs and prices, the property values in Hamilton South vary dramatically depending on where you are.
The A43 acts as an informal boundary of areas. Head towards the coast, towards The Junction and Merewether, you’ll see prices rise. There’s more houses here — large blocks with traditional homes. This is where the median house price of $1.6m comes into play.
Towards Broadmeadow and Hamilton, however, prices come down. Even though you’re close to two highly desirable areas, there’s also a large housing estate around Neill Terrace and Fowler Street where property, especially units, are a lot cheaper.
Although shops and cafes are in thin supply in Hamilton South, there are plenty within easy walking distance. Whether you want to go to Brunker Road in Adamstown, Beaumont Street in Hamilton, Marketown in Newcastle West or Kenrick Street in The Junction, you’re surrounded by options.
