Islington features
If you move to Islington, you’ll quickly be welcomed to the community. People here are very proud of their suburb, their school and their neighbours.
If you love being active and getting outdoors, Islington is one of the best inner-city suburbs to move to. The walking/cycle track alongside Throsby Creek is a great way to stay active, taking you easily to Carrington, Honeysuckle or all the way to the beaches in Newcastle.
Perched at the top of Hamilton’s Beaumont Street means it’s very easy to get to some of the best cafes in Newy. The intersection with Maitland Road boasts some of the best second-hand and independent shops in the area, as well as the much-loved Slingtown Espresso and the Hamo Hotel. Deeper in Islington is Shout Brewery, one of a handful of craft breweries that have popped up in Newcastle in recent years. For more shopping options in the pre-loved category, the strip in adjacent Clyde Street are a stone’s throw away.
Other popular spots in neighbouring suburbs include the Tafe in Tighes Hill, Revolution in Maryville and the Lass in Wickham.
