Lenaghan features
Only 70 people lived in Lenaghan at the time of the 2021 census, so very few people truly know what it’s like to live in Lenaghan.
The few properties in this suburb rarely come up for sale – the one listed in January 2026 has been in the same family for 70 years – so if you see one come up, grab it with both hands.
The attraction of living in Lenaghan is the space. If the thought of living in a unit doesn’t appeal, moving to one of Newcastle’s most remote suburbs might be the answer. The properties here are large and spacious, with plenty of land to farm and care for.
There’s plenty of green space nearby too. The Hunter Wetlands are on one side while Pembalong Natural Reserve is in Lenaghan itself.
There’s very little in the way of features in the suburb itself, but it’s surrounded by great options. It’s just a short drive to Beresfield, Fletcher, Maryland and Tarro, so you’ve got plenty of options for shopping or train stations to visit the big cities easily.
