Mayfield West features
Mayfield West is a suburb full of industry and jobs. Historically home to the working class, homes in this suburb remain affordable although the average property price is definitely on the rise.
The aptly named Industrial Drive – a favourite on Reddit threads thanks to its speed limits – leads to one of the biggest manufacturing areas in the Newcastle region.
You’ll also find plenty of green space at Stevenson Park. Soccer fields and softball diamonds take up a lot of space, but there’s also a popular playground (recently renovated) and plenty of empty green space to walk dogs or go for a run.
You don’t have a huge range of shops to choose from, other than a servo for your basics. However, it’s a tiny drive to options in Mayfield and Warabrook.
However, there’s a wide range of food options. The French Patisserie bakes delicious, bougie cakes and further along Maitland Road is Mayfield West Kebabs & Charcoal Chicken, home to Newcastle’s best hot chips and a host of other popular comfort foods.
