North Lambton features
Making up the Lambton quadfecta (with Lambton, New Lambton and New Lambton Heights), North Lambton is a quiet suburb separated slightly from its three neighbours.
Sitting closer to the uni – bordered by Callaghan, Jesmond and Waratah West – North Lambton is just a short drive from the city centre while having everything it needs on its doorstep. There are only a few businesses of note in North Lambton itself (most notably the Water Board Bowlo and Maison Augustine’s French cakes) but there’s plenty of interest nearby. A shopping centre, state of the art hospital and two incredible swimming pools (one indoor at the uni, the other outdoor in Lambton) are all within a few minutes’ drive.
There are, however, plenty of green spaces in North Lambton. Cloverfield, Acacia Avenue Reserve (with an off-leash dog park), Hillview Playground and Dent Street Reserve are all important areas in this suburb. Pilkington Street Reserve is another green space of note, home to a Tiny Forest created by Groundswell Collective.
Houses in North Lambton are still available for less than $1m, making it more affordable than the other Lambtons, but prices are definitely on the move.
