What's it like to live in Rankin Park?
Rankin Park is a fairytale location for families. As mortgage brokers, we appreciate the lower-than-average price point for homes, and almost every property in this suburb is a house on its own block of land. The playgrounds at Murabarnbah Park and Hancock Park give young children somewhere to play and the bushland in George McGregor Park is full of trails to help you enjoy the great outdoors easily.
Houses in this suburb are generally zoned for some of the best schools in Newcastle: New Lambton Heights Infants School, Wallsend South Public School and Lambton High School.

Rankin Park features
On the surface, Rankin Park doesn’t have a lot of features, but that peace, quiet and slow pace of life is one of the big draws.
Everything you could need is in very easy driving distance – John Hunter Hospital, Kotara Westfield, the cinema at Glendale and the library at Wallsend are all within a ten-minute radius. Rankin Park doesn’t even have a cafe or bar, but the mini shopping centre in neighbouring Elermore Vale has these as well as essentials like a dentist, medical centre and hairdresser.
If you like the sound of this serene neighbourhood, things may be about to get even quieter in Rankin Park. Construction of the Newcastle Inner City Bypass is progressing well, and by 2026 this should take a lot of the traffic off McCaffrey Drive.
