Tarro features
Originally popular with those who worked in the mines, Tarro’s appeal has spread to families and first-time buyers who appreciate the large blocks and affordable price tags.
You’ll find plenty of small businesses in Tarro, so everyday needs like haircuts, BBQ chooks and fuel (some of the cheapest fuel in Newy, no less) is easy to find. There’s a supermarket and a few more restaurants and takeaway options in neighbouring Beresfield (or Berro to the locals) and it’s not far to Maitland were you’ve got the Green Hills shopping centre and everything else you might need.
If you want to visit somewhere a bit bigger, it’s simple. The train station connects you to Newy and Maitland, but it’s also just 10 minutes by car to Maitland, 20 to Newcastle and three to the F3 which takes you down to the Central Coast and then Sydney. With the freeway being connected to Branxton and Muswellbrook, it makes Tarro even closer to areas of the Hunter Valley.
Tarro also has plenty of green space. A large recreation area has a playground, off-leash dog area, cricket oval and footy pitches, and the suburb backs onto the wetlands so you’ve got a great chance of seeing birds and other wildlife.
